"Run the lamp for 8 hours a day for 3 or 4 days then let it sit for a week. Then run it again for the same time. As a month goes by see if the lamp starts to look better."

Bohdan replied to Spencer541's discussion Question - How to clear up a foggy 90's lava lamp
"Most lava lamps made today come from China except for Mathmos. The cloudy liquid is caused by the wax itself so after the vase becomes hot and as it cools down some of the wax goes to the bottom. Once the lamp is cold if there is a white film on the…"

"Hi, Using it for 8-10 hours, for 3-4 days on, then let it rest for "a few" days, then start over, do this for a month or so (I'm trying this right now) If this method does not work then there may be a problem with the wax. Older Lava…"

What inspired you to collect lava lamps or wierdly wonderful lighting?
I was drawn to the colors. I started working in Spencer Gifts in October 1996 which was just about the end of the 90's lava craze thru November 1998. I was always drawn to the various colors and styles that the lamps came in. Geez, If I had only known then what I know now. So now I'm back again hunting around for the psychedelics bases. I highly praise Bohdan for his knowledge of lava lamps and passing it around. Without it I would be lost.
