Well when my first one cracked; the sent me a shipping label asking for the globe's return. When the seal fell in the second, and the electrical got fried; they just told me to keep it and they would send out a new one. Which was a good thing; because the only good things about the third lamp was bad about the second lamp; so I just used the third for parts. Still like the granite base first and second though. That was my favorite. On another note I may have found a source for bulbs. :-D I stumbled upon that shitty site OozingGoo (purely by accident; I would never go to that stupid site intentionally); doing a Google search for Lava Colossus, and in the post they talked about bulbs and where to get them. I didn't know it was OG at first click but anywho; I'll let you know how the bulb thing works out.
Looks like LL will have its final run on the Colossus. The cost is around the $700.00 to $900.00 area dependent on the base/table plus shipping. The last one I bought from them arrived by Freight thru FedEx and cost $125.00 shipping. LL did have issues with warrenty on them and since the cost to reship back to LL was costly for them at the time they started to ask the buyer to pay for the shipping back and this became a BIG problem. I hope that LL will be better at this and not just hange up on the new buyers with there lamps as they once did.
All my lamps have been confined to either the basement, garage or our bedroom. :(
Yea... Mine has really good flow too. Unfortunately my partner likes to seep freezing cold so our room is never at the right temp. Plus with all the fans blowing because of him I never get to see it run well. I would love to put it in the living room; but his mom hates my lava and will not have it in the living room or other areas of the house.
The sad part with the Colossus was the fact that they turned out to be Giant Grandes in disguise. They had a good thing going with them for the cost and they made them even cheaper by having the vase made in China after they ran out of the German made versions. Once this started I knew there days were coming to an end .
Colossus and there bulb what a story. After I bought mine I spoke with a long time friend from LW and was told to stock up on Bulbs for the future they were having a time getting them . And now the fun begins in search of the original ones.
