The Heritage Collection from LL

Well since the Heritage Collection is now on sale like $14.99 from the $40.00 to $50.00 range it was time for me to buy a few and see what has to be done to make them work as they should have been if needed. The shop I went to had over 30 in stock and all 6 models were there. I bought all 3 of the Century models and the great looking Red Wizard model. As they came out of the box the Century 5000 and 5001 were slightly cloudy the other 2 were nice and clear. As I begin there start-up I will add to this forum on how they run. I see LLs site no-longer has them since all have been sold to other Lots for quick sales at a fantastic low price.

What the Blue Century looks like up close after around 8 hours of flowing. This vase will still take another week to clear up better LL China used that Cheap wax from yrs ago with that white milky liquid on the bottom that helps the cloudiness to appear as you start its first run. The only premium parts used in this lamp are in the base and electrics.

The Yellow/Red 5000 version will take time to clear properly since there premium formula looks like the same from there 2010 year versions which turned out to be another disaster.

This is sad as they had a lot of potential with these lamps. They should return production to the USA.

What is sad about this run on the Century lamps is since LL China had done the Wizard in Black finish they had the color to make Black Century lamps yet they blew it away. If they had made it happen with the Black added to the Silver and Gold finish more may have been sold. They should have looked into the 1997 catalog.

It looks like the Heritage Grande in Neon Green is no-longer for sale on LLs site only the pink is still there.

At least this version was not that bad even though it needed an inner heat shield to help it along since it took soooo long for it to start to run.

Something LL China forgot is that when you have the shape of a Century base and have the added pin holes the heat needed to run is not there this is why LW USA never added the holes to there giants and on the USA Century added that great looking inner heat ring.

Was the 2013 Wizard sold for a nice price from LL China at $39.00. The original sold for $59.00 with USA globes yet for what LL China asked for the cost was not that bad. Most of us got lucky like myself to have paid only $14.99 at the close-out shops. Mine is working great and looks great also.

As for the LL China Century was the price of $49.99 worth it for those who bought them NO. Once again quite a few buyers got lucky like myself and got them thru the close-out shops for $14.99. LW USA sold them for $69.00 with USA globes the globes on these are not as good and require long term running to have them almost clear the worst is the Yellow/Red. LL China did not do there research on them and many customers had bad problems and many where returned the rest arrived for us who waited in the Discount shops.

I am constantly redoing China lamps-even newer ones

Even through I am able to save the lave 80% of the time, I still have gone through a quart of Magma tower goo in the last month

This is why LL China will never have a come-back with sales. Its all about Cheap production and so many people here in the states have bought there lamps and returned them because they are sooo bad. Over time those people will no longer even look at LL China lamps and the sales will keep going down. We as collectors know what is to be done with there lamps how-ever the major buyer do-not and once they have a few bad lamps they stay away. I myself will never buy there lamps at cost why they need to be repaired so I wait till they are discounted big time for sale then I just may buy a few to play with. Here is a photo of one of my 1999 Century lamps with the inner heat shield and bottom insulation base which even stands on a 3 point bottom to keep more heat with-in. Its just like what LL China has with its Clear/purple look but the USA is better looking and running.
