Collecting NECA made lava lamps.

An all classic one for Halloween. The Nightmare Before Christmas lamp.  This one came with the hard to find in 52z globe #28 which is Green liquid w/white lava. I will run this one with other globes at times since finding another like one would be very hard .

Another one from NECA was The Spiderman Lava Lamp. When they first came out only a very few came with the Green liquid / white lava globes. They then realized that LW did not have enought #28 globes to make this run and added the #02 Yellow liquid with Red lava to the production line. I bought one of the first ones out and it had that green globe with it. Later on I bought another and it came with the yellow liquid/red lava globe. As there sales continued I started to see #03 Blue liquid with white lava globe added to them.

Neca released the Hulk Lava lamp and it had this cool looking globe. Green liquid with green lava. They were supposed to release yet another version in purple/purple globe but that never happened.

This Lava lamp was made in 2001 and came with the rare Green liquid/white wax in its 52z globe.

The globe on this version had its Green liquid with Green wax and what a great tall lamp to own.

There is a story to this lamp when they first came out to be sold. LW sent out to NECA a few of the correct color #28 globe but it was in a 32z version. I bought 2 of them when they first came out and both had a 32z globe within. I then ordered the 52z version from LW USA since they still had globes for sale since I wanted that color in the 32z. When you place the top cap on a 32z it looks just like the side cover box however the globe would have sat on the 40w short spot light bulb.

What was nice is they had U.S.A globes in them and they looked great.

But the Simpsons one (I pretty sure it is NECA?) has a lot to be desired.

Simpsons and the Hulk are both NECA. There were a few of the Hulk lamps made with Blue liquid and yellow wax also but the rare version would have to the Purple liquid with a lavender wax followed by the Green on Green version. Most of the Simpson lamps I saw at Spencers years ago arrived cloudy and some began to stick to the side of the globe as it flowed.
