I have a couple older candle powered lamps that use the consort globe, as well as a couple other cylindrical/chrome globes that either float at the top or clump at the bottom. The cylinders had the oily liquid, so I know it can't be saved. I'm looking for a wax refill kit. I've seen some but haven't seen any that allow tinting of the liquid, only the wax. Any suggestions? I don't know if the newer waxes would work with the heat of a candle, since they run pretty hot.

The problem I have with the 30+ year old wax is that it has typically faded and often will not flow. I have re-waxed a few using sacrificial globes as the source, but some seem to work and others don't. I don't think they came in colors other thn red and yellow...maybe just red. I typically just put a tea light in the bottom of the empty original candle and it works nicely for about 3-4 hours.
