I wonder what would happen if I used a 30w bulb and placed an Astro Baby Clear/Black bottle inside it. There is a transformer and I wonder if it would damage it.

Yeah it won't go down too well cos the light bulb on the 30 Watt Bulb is 220 Volts for UK/AU.

The transformer would run hotter. Mathmos used the transformer perhaps for other uses in other parts of the world those smaller bulbs are used in indoor/outdoor spot lighting I have a few and they are direct wiring no Trans.

I myself am not a fan of having a transformer run lamp they go after a while. However adding this transformer is Mathmos way of making a world wide sellable lamp.

Oh My this lamp from Mathmos will turn out to be a fast seller and at times sold out due to sales. Now the copper is a real standout.

I like how the metal support reflects the blobs of lava when you look at it straight on. :) Kind of trippy.

They should do some copper Astro Babies too.

Wow the copper is really nice too!

Looks amazing, great photo, I'm loving the copper version.

The copper would be my first choice reminds me of Crestworth.

I like the other color combos that Mathmos as to offer.
