Took a Haggerty Metallic and had the base and cap copper plated.
WARNING! This is not just for anyone.
If you attempt this, you have to coat the inside of the base with a ceramic paint by hand for several reasons.
The copper plating will distribute all heat away from the globe so it will not flow.
Added bonus: it will burn you hand it touched when hot.
