There is something that I really love about Planters with their funky cheerful flowers that cheers anyone up on a gloomy day. I also love that faded dusty blue liquid that we often see with them that gives a hint of blue to the globe. So beautiful, classy and so period of the time.

The red rubber hose washer worked out very well since I have used this version before its a perfect fit and not hard. Once the washer is placed on the vase the cap is screwed back in place and as it makes contact with the wash I will just snug it down. If you over tighten it the cap will crack as most do at the top area as can be seen at time when they are up for sale on Ebay.

I had noticed within the planter that a small black spot was floating at the top so I finally got around to see what was going on. These 32z caps do not have that inner rubber ring like the 52z globes have they have an upper rubber washer that is fully enclosed. After the many yrs this rubber will start to break down so I used a outdoor hose washer.
