This company was a head of its time with the design of the vase which was very clever and there vase was well made with thick glass and the top being a screw off cap.
I absolutely love these lava lamps from Australia - A cross between an Astro and a rocket. Perfect.
The end caps are vacuum hose caps colors that can be found in the Auto shop. They can be trimed down and are a perfect fit for the legs. The Bulb for mine is the same shape and size as a 40w however here in the states we run on 120v so all I had to do was screw in the bulb and away the flow went. Your power is in the 230v range so that would have blown my bulb out.
Hey Bohdan, how did you make the rubber feet? I want to make some for mine.. such a good idea as they slide about easily. Also what "wattage" bulbs do you use?
Its a shame that Carramar had to close down the Lava line. With the world having more cheap LL to buy the companies that make quality lamps are having a hard time staying open.
They are an Australian Lava lamp called the Volcano lamp which was made by Carramar lighting, the company folded many years ago, they made three models of this lamp, one with rivets in the legs , this model above which is identical but without rivets, and a newer model with more legs. Great lamp with an excellent flow, they pop up on ebay from time to time.
Where does one find these. I keep seeing people talking about them from time to time; and really like them.
Beautiful Carramar with Orange lava! Great matching robot too! Really nice photo Bohdan!
