I used a high speed dremel with a stainless steel cone brush for the patterns.

So it can't be made from the goo from magma towers? I'd like to do a 250 oz lamp. I don't want to have to buy a whole new globe from mathos,or is this the only way to get this color lava?

It is a type of lava lamp known as Glitter Ball by Mathmos. They are beautiful. Bohdan machined the base and it really goes with the metal effect of the lava.

This one was fun to make it happen. What do you do with a base that has been thru hell with the finish that is so badly scratched. Out comes the Dremel speed tool with a cone stainless wire brush and away you go.
