What the inside looks like. The top base is from the second coffee can base that was cut and then the base was also cut for the hole and rubber was added to make sure the heat from the bulb was more to the glass then the metal top can.

For my Heads I used 2 large Metal coffee can that were cut and fitted together to make the top. I used the plastic lid for the bottom once the hole was drilled as a sfat pad to keep scratchs away.

Since it has the shape and size of a real head you can add to it like this 300 Spartan helmet. This one real stands out at night as it is displayed in a corner.

I have always wanted to make one. I pass a shop everyday that sells store displays, mannequins and they have the glass heads in the shop window. Every time I see them I think of your lava heads and smile :)

Headscapes time came and went they had problems with heads as they became cloudy at times and they also did not add extra lava to them. Just by adding a little more lava the Head would have had a great flow to them. They also had base problems on there second run series.

This is fascinating. I wonder what happened to Headscapes. I love your Yellow/Red head lamp.

In around yr 2000 to 2001 Headscapes Lamps were being made. They had a very short life and went under not much was known about them . The heads they made were OK however they had many cloudy problems and many of there Heads had little lava in them for a great looking flow. They had 2 base styles and even then there bases had problems.

On my Yellow head I used extra wax for a different flow.

The Glass head will hold dependent on the head itself between 104z to 110z.  The top of the Head has the thickest glass part and it will look for one that has the least for more liquid to be held. So 2  52z globes can be used to make a head.
