So I bought a vintage lava lite lamp and its not working properly. I have no idea of the history. When I bough it the lava was clumped in a big ball in the bottom of the lamp. I plugged it in and left it for a couple of hours and still nothing. So I figured that the large clump of lava wasn't heating so I thought if the lava was broken up into smaller pieces it would heat up quicker. So I shook it up and broke the lava up into smaller pieces. After I did that the lava was all congealed looking and was floating at the top. I left it that way until today and I decided to put it in the fridge to cool it off. Left it there for a few hours and now the lava is back at the bottom in a knarly gray looking mass. I turned it on about 2 hours ago and it hasn't changed. Any ideas as to what I should do?

What does it look like a photo would help. Many of the older Lava Lite USA lamps used a chemical as liquid and dependent on age the wax many have just worn out. Lava wax do have a time range as being used over the many years. On the older USA lamps when adding water to the vase you could see the difference as the liquids do not mix and remain separated.

How can I add pics from my phone? I don’t see an add file tab.

Check out the area under Add photos on the bottom.

That’s the problem, that “area” doesn’t show up on my iPhone. All I get is the Reply tab and below that is a bubble showing the number of responses and a trash can next to that.

This is what the bottom page looks like.
