Shipping Lava Lamps

If I sell a lava lamp online, how do you suggest I ship it? I have sold and shipped a couple in the past but they arrived all cloudy and shaken up.

I will ship mine before the hot days of summer. When I sold quite a few of my lamps a while back I bubble wrapped the base and did the same to the vase standing up but wrapped it around a few times I then placed them inside the box with peanuts as much as I could fit inside for a pressed fit to keep the shaking limited to a loose vase. Then wrapped and shipped using FedEx at the time since UPS seems to throw the boxes around Way to much for lamps. Also ship while the Temp. ouside is below 80 if possible since the package may sit all day in a very hot truck while the delivery takes place. I sold mine in the months of March-April and May.
