Hi all, just acquired my first lunar, tried it out last night but could not get it to flow. Seemed to just stay in a blob and rise slightly but would not break off and flow. It has the original 75w bulb and I had it on for about 3 1/2 hours. It is an old  blue green colour way bottle so was wondering if the bottle is no good, but saying that the seller stated that it had not been run a lot. Was wondering whether to try a100w bulb or do I need to run it longer with the 75w bulb? Any help would be appreciated.

They do flow with a 75w bulb but it does take a while for them to get going especially if the room is a little chilly.
3 1/2 hours isn't really that long for a lunar, another hour and it would have been starting to flow nicely.
Lunars can be left on for hours providing they are dimmed and not showing signs of overheating.
With it being an old bottle also it will take longer to get going, I would give it a long run say 6-9 hours with it on full power till it starts to fully flow then dim it down.
If that fails try a 100w bulb and see how it goes.

I would definately use a 100 watt bulb on the Blue/Green bottle. In my opinion the Blue/green is not one of the earlier bottles and should be run on a 100 watts. The earlier biottles that I have that run on the 75 watt bulbs are the clear/red and clear/green.

Use the 100 watt bulb and then dim it once it gets hot , it will take a few tries to find the sweet spot.
