None were sold to the public, and as far as I know, all that were installed are still there. I know that as many were there in 2008 as there were in 2005. When new, they had red/yellow and white/blue globes, and in '05 these were cooked. Above, you can see the blue faded to clear but the red and white waxes still bright, so this has to be a pre-2005 photo. In '08 they had new Grande yellow/violet and yellow/blue globes which were clear and flowed well. The base is a black Giant base with about 3" cut off the bottom to lower them, screwed to the surface; after the globe is set into the base, the spun-and-chromed metal cover sits over that, hiding the globe's bulge. The matching saucer, which is hollow, fits on top. There are about eight or nine, some on the bar and some around the two dining areas. Place has awesome views and good, if pricey, food and drinks.

Located in Los Angeles the Restaurant has gone thur many changes since 911 when it had to be closed for security reasons it then open once more and thru 2008 till 2011 has been changed some what.  There are videos on You Tube about as it is now but from what I could tell not many Saucer Giants are left.
