Hello all,

Our goo is clear, it only takes on color once it has been dyed. I've been running a test lamp for approximately 3-4 months 24/7 and it did eventually turn an opaque white, id say a good 2500 hours of solid run time. I do check this site and if i see any questions directed to MT I will do my best to help out. We are also on Facebook www.facebook.com/MagmaTower So if you ever have a question for me you can message me here, on our Facebook, or our websites email contact page.

I remember years ago when The Lava company called Hot Rocks came out with a Red clear wax in a clear liquid vase. The wax was solid red when cold but when heated up became a clear see thru wax I had mine for many years and ran it like wise. Over time the globe just died away from many yrs of use.

Well. If u don't run it for 3 months straight as Richard at MT did. It'll be fine. He did that bye experiment with the clear to see what happens. The turn opaque when you turn them off. Then when they heat up they go clear again. My grande takes about 4+hours to fully heat. I leave it on from 7 am to midnight and I never have an issue. Try it. It's $30.00 bucks. What it going to hurt? If it does fall it won't be for a long time. Don't worry just do it. You will smile. Just get your flow as you want it and you clear/clear will mesmerize you. I stare at them for hours. I can't help it. Lol. I love my lamps. Anyhow try a goo kit from them. I am working on a chrome lava at the moment.that will be awesome.
Oh I won the holiday goo kit for my Christmas tree lava lamp. To funny.
Well my friend give it ur best. Oh !! Also are you doing a grande lamp or smaller? If your doing a grande use 3.25 cups of go don't add the whole full quart. I promise you'll be happier. You get more room for movement. .
Good luck. Let me know. I get my delivery tomorrow, so I'm going to attempt my chrome lava. Wish me luck. Lol but I think it'll work. Let me know how you do on the clear/clear if you order a goo kit from MT.

Brian,

Thanks for posting.... Forgive me if I misunderstood, but I thought you said earlier that the MT clear/clears went opaque after a while? And when they cooled down?

If they really do stay crystal clear over time (like Woodvetch's beauties) I'd very much like to try to duplicate that Invisible Touch effect here in the UK. Would need advice, but will listen...

Please do get in touch if you/MT can help?

Any serious advice very welcome!

Electric Astro - I agree about Mathmos clear! Especially up at the Lunar end...

You can do a clear lava lamp from
Magma Tower. Just add no color. I've done it. Clear as a bell. Try it

I wish Mathmos would do a clear lamp.

Hi Woodvetch, sorry to have intruded on the top-up briefing, here's just one ignorant thought - might there be something completely harmless/neutral you can put in, to extend the fluid without altering its characteristics?

and thanks for the background info - it's your clear/clear Grandes that fascinate and delight me, ever since I saw the pix (though metallics are pretty amazing too)

I was thinking of a test-run on a Lunar clear/clear, then maybe a really big one - just refurb'ed something very special indeed and am making extra large globes for the right lava to go wild in....

i'll try MT, thanks, their website looks really awesome, hope they will work at street level! Any suggestions as to whom to contact/brief would be greatly appreciated?

Best for '16, and good luck with those globes, whichever route you go...

Andy

You can do the same with gold. looks like polished 24 carat gold liquid. Super awesome.

A chrome can be established by a super fine silver glitter. I mean like powder fine. Hard to find but I found them that mix with the paraffin. best results come from making secondary colors to create white lava then saturate with the glitter till it no longer has a glitter sparkle look to it add bit by bit and it's turns mirror silver. Super super cool. ..
