I recently bought an old white Mathmos lavabottle which was allmost yellow due to age and use...
I ordered some candle dye and put that in the hot lava...
The result you see here.... a super white lava.... this looks so much better than the old yellowish bottle...
I think it is a real gem now...
Well..it didn't all go easy...
first I had to empty the bottle..
heat the lava.. pour in the tiny granuline candle dye and refill the lamp after cooling..
I noticed the lava had changed consistency...
all the lava floted on the surface so I couldn't use the old liquid anymore..
I refilled the lamp with demineralised water, added salt an a tiny drop washing liquid.
waited for the lamp to warm up and tweaked the liquid with salt and water...
The lava has lost it's translucency, but I think it is well worth it....
