Well since the Heritage Collection is now on sale like $14.99 from the $40.00 to $50.00 range it was time for me to buy a few and see what has to be done to make them work as they should have been if needed. The shop I went to had over 30 in stock and all 6 models were there. I bought all 3 of the Century models and the great looking Red Wizard model. As they came out of the box the Century 5000 and 5001 were slightly cloudy the other 2 were nice and clear. As I begin there start-up I will add to this forum on how they run. I see LLs site no-longer has them since all have been sold to other Lots for quick sales at a fantastic low price.

When LW USA made the Century lamps they added a plastic bottom to perhaps keep the heat of the base inside and not losing heat to the counter it was on. So perhaps this may work on the New Century will add something to make it happen and see if its makes a difference.

Very interesting if you take the round plastic top of the Heritage box and place it under the base its a perfect fit and the heat remains with-in.

What this lamp looks like now after its 4th run. I have added that plastic bottom with a 40w A-15 bulb and my heat shield and the dimmer is set at 75% and its running great. This lamp is starting to flow great and clearing up.

They are selling these here for the full retail price. I am hoping that they will reduce them, the shelves don't seem to be clearing of these for Xmas. I think the Century with pin-holes is so much more classier than their 52oz lamps. I would pick up some Wizards to dump and glitter. I love Kirk's glitter formulation.

The Red Wizard we bought is running great with its Lava and we have a few Red glitter globes to add to it.

On a roll making a few more heat shields for the Century lamps. This is the only way this lamp will run great with and while using a 40watt a-15 frosted bulb on that plastic lid base insulation.

What I used to make this happen using the extra 52z Aristocrat cap that I have saved over time. I cut of that 1/2" top using dremmel disk.

Next I cut down straight 1/8" all the way around and them cut the bottom off right at the flat edge. I then used a needle nose pliers to bend tabs down REMEMBER not to bend tabs down to far they will break off if you try to re-bend them back up LL used cheap metal.

Once done I straightened the tabs with the pliers all the way around for that perfect fit. And away they went to the Century lamps.

This is what LL China should have done to make it happen and not lost so much in overstock inventory to be sold to Lot Shops at $14.99 each from that premium cost of $49.99.

What the heat shield looked like on the U.S.A Century versions which also came with a 40w frosted bulb.

Here is a photo of the cap with its date the others are around the same time period. This one is the Clr/purple version and it is flowing clear and nice. As you can see they no-longer use that 09 color code and the date parameter has changed.

Photo of what the box cover description looks like for the Wizard.
