Now that Mathmos 50th has ended and there Ann. was a great success with all of there great looking lamps and many new Classics I wonder what LLs 50th will be. Mathmos is still a great icon that is still made in England however LL as an icon is now made in China so is it really considered an American icon. Will LL be releasing said 52z and 32z in there 50th gold color and will they still have the Heritage formula lamps that were to be the best that they could make using premium parts.

We shall soon see what they will have for this year and what there greatest 50th Ann. lamps will be.

14.5" COLORMAX™-Volcano with Tri-Colored Globe
As the white lava passes through the multi-colored globe, the moving lava absorbs the different colors and changes tone. Watch the motion and enjoy this version of a timeless lava lamp.

  • The hot lava graphics on the base & cap match perfectly with th real hot lava inside the lamp.

If only this would have been made in a 32z. The 20z lamps are just to small.

Grande -Multi Color Globe/White Wax/Clear Liquid

  • The GRANDE is currently our largest Lava Lamp in production. At over two feet tall, it is a sight to be seen
  • A hand-painted 5 color glass globe makes the white wax appear to change color as it flows up and down the globe.

Looks like a new run with the Grande lamps has begun.

Interesting Grande idea - I wonder how it will flow tho.

There has always been a problem with the White and Yellow wax from China LL. Most of the time that wax is very soft and clouds up quick. Perhaps they have solved this problem and all will be well again. The best White wax lava lamp so far newly made is still from the shops called 5below.

Another 50th added to LLs line up. This version is the 20z lamp which means they will soon be adding that 50th Grande to complete the list.

14.5" 50th Anniversary - Yellow Wax/Purple Liquid/Gold Cap & Base

  • Limited Edition Collector's Item!  Certificate of Authenticity included with each lamp.
  • "50th Anniversary" Embossed into a classic gold base.
  • Watch the different-sized formations of melted wax collide, flow, and split apart as they ooze their way up and down the glass globe

Here is another Disco addition.

Mini Mirror Ball-battery operated

Creates a stunning color display of light to get any party started

  • Portable for your party on the go!
  • 360 degrees of rotating action
  • LED lights gives this item a big light effect!
  • Requires "3" AA batteries not included

There seems to be a roll on wraps with there color combos.

14.5" COLORMAX™ World with Tri-Colored Globe
As the white lava passes through the multi-colored globe, the moving lava absorbs the different colors and changes tone. Watch the motion and enjoy this version of a timeless lava lamp. Beautiful earth graphic pair perfectly with the hand painted globe color for one outta this world looking 20z lamp. Now this would have been great as a 52z globe lamp.

  • 27" 50th Anniversary Grande-Yellow Wax/Purple Liquid/Gold Cap/Base
  • Limited Edition Collector's Item!  Certificate of Authenticity included with each lamp.
  • "50th Anniversary" Embossed into a classic gold base.

I wonder if LL is holding there last great surprise in the Colossus line up with perhaps only 50 makes                 done the same as this Grande and with a cost of perhaps $1,500.00 now that would be interesting.

The Grande Starship would have been a great Idea for LLs 50th.

14.5" Volcano Lamp

  • 300 Lava globules erupt constantly, simulating a real volcano!
  • 3 Color phasing LED action, from White to Orange to Red-provide a great designe element
  • Instant start up action

Now that LL has released there 50th lamps it seems that Mathmos still has the best in the 50th. They have a great color and a very limited run of 500 which is in the collectors market. Also there 50th is made in England.

LL 50th has a run of 1,965 per and they released so many versions from the 20z up to the Grande. Now there 50th lamp is made in China which is not in the collectors market. They should have used there Yellow liquid with Red wax for some of the lamps and  the Blue liquid with white wax for the larger lamps these were there original USA colors back in the day and they sold very well. This Purple liquid with yellow wax that they have is ok but could have been better. To have an American Icon lava lamp made in China is very sad.

My vote on the 50th is Mathmos.

I saw a Rainbow 52z at a Spencers and the color spray was done poorly. I have seen a few others and they look somewhat clear. It seems they have started to cheaply spray the globes and they have that cloudy look to them this is not good at all.

This problem may also appear on the Grande so I will stay away from such lamps.
